You can even visit Neuschwanstein castle during a day excursion, which is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe and was used by Disney as a model castle for their parks and as a set for some Harry Potter movies.

Alter Peter
St. Peters Church is the oldest church to be found in Munich. Its tower is called 'alter Peter' and has a viewing platform which is publicly accessable. After climbing the more or less 300 stairs your efforts will be rewarded: as buildings in Munich may not be higher than the churches in town you will have a lovely view over Munich from up here. Furthermore the church is home to the oldest clocks and church bells in whole Munich.
Biergärten
In the time when breweries stalled their beer in big cellars and were cooled by big trees, it was usual to just set up some tables and chairs outside and enjoy good food and beer. That is how the tradition began. Today people in Munich still love to go to the Biergarten after a long day of working or during the weekend and enjoy being outside.
Hofbräuhaus
The Hofbräuhaus is without a doubt the most popular Brauhaus in Munich. Here you can have a nice and cozy evening with local beer, traditional Bavarian food and typical Bavarian live music.
Maximilian Street
At Maximilian street you will find yourself in the middle of the most prestigious street of Munich. Luxury shopping at all the big names like Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Dolce and Gabbana lets fashion lover's hearts beat faster.
Neues Rathaus
The beautiful new town hall dominates the appearance of the Marienplatz. Only about a hundred years old, but kept in a gothic style, it is rather unexpected that the town hall only was built in 1905.
Oktoberfest
From the end of September until the beginning of October, Munich is in the Oktoberfest mood. Men in Lederhosen, women in Dirndl, typical Bavarian food and Music and of course German beer attract millions of visitors each year.
